AVIV GEFFEN – Superstar from Israel is making examples in Germany

Munich – With the plane from Tel Aviv a big piece of current Israelian history has been landing in Munich. AVIV GEFFEN has sold more than 2,5 million records in his home country already. Now he is aiming to Germany with his next step. This upcoming Saturday he will have his first festival show on German ground taking place at the Great Wide Open Festival in Mühldorf.
The Bayerische Rundfunk broadcast company has interviewed him exclusively therefore and will broadcast the feature this Friday at “Abendschau”.

AVIV GEFFEN is a rebel and a hero at the same time. With his intelligent lyrics offensively aiming against Israelian military, GEFFEN is provocating. “Some of my songs have been forbidden in Israel”, he says to the BR. Though, Yitzhak Rabin is taking him in his arms after the release of the single “Cry For You” – just a several months before he is assassinated.
A moment, that GEFFEN will never forget again – just like his childhood about which he sings on the upcoming new album that will be released in August and is the first one in English language for his solo career. “I represent the fucked up generation”, he says. “My parents are divorced and my father had a lot of problems with drugs and alcohol. I have a broken home.”
A very unique feeling he causes in contrast to that when he is on stage – 20.000 people are coming to all of his concerts in Israel. In Germany you will be able to experience him this Saturday at the Great Wide Open as well as at the Taubertal Festival on August, 9th and the Vienna Donauinsel Festival on September 26th.
